Abbeyfield Houses provide places for 10 residents who enjoy their own room with ensuite and the services of a housekeeper who prepares midday and evening meals and cleans the common areas of the house.
It provides supported accommodation for older persons who may be unable to cope with the maintenance of their own home and gardens, or who may feel unsafe living alone, or maybe wish to move to the district to live closer to family members.
Residents are able to come and go and there is a carport provided for those who have a car.
There will be an ongoing capital payment which ranges from $20 to $20,000, of which 75% is refunded on leaving. The amount depends on the financial circumstances of the individual.
